Rivers of the World 2021
The Rangoli Flag is flying outside the Tate Modern
Rivers of the World update
Exciting news On! You may remember that back in June, and Diversity Fortnight, twenty of our Year 9 students took part in a Rangoli workshop with the artist Shona Watt, to create Rangoli artwork as part of a connecting classrooms project on the theme of Rivers of The World.
The printed Flag display is now outside the Tate Modern gallery in London until September 30th 2021.The flags and display looked absolutely beautiful as i walked over the millennium bridge on the glorious sunny Sunday, I was greeted by them blowing in the gentle breeze. I felt so proud of our students contribution and It was so wonderful to see our students work displayed here again for the second time. The flags made such a lovely intervention for many people made up of families, street performers, tourists, and the general public passing through the busy riverside walk along the Southbank. I do hope you are able to visit them, they will be displayed until the 30th September. Congratulations to the twenty Year 9 students who are now Year 10 who took part. Watch this space for further developments.
The project is in coordination with The Arts council of England and we are partnered with a school in Kerrela where we recently sent our postcards from a previous project.
Best wishes from Miss Green and the Art Department.
